With everything Fremantle has to offer, it’s no wonder the portside city made it onto Lonely Planet’s list of Top 10 cities in the world 2016. It’s a must to add Freo to your travel plan and explore this amazing city for yourself.

An essential Perth attraction, Fremantle is famous for its laid back culture. Perfect for a day trip, the city is just 25 minutes south of the CBD.

This harbour front town is infused with live music, hipster bars and craft breweries, and is home to the Fremantle Port, as well as other well-known landmarks.

However it is not the port that gives Freo – as it is known locally – its popular reputation. Fremantle has something for everyone this summer, from lunch with friends to beach visits and historical adventures.

Take a stroll down the hallmark of Fremantle; it’s cappuccino strip.

Outdoor cafes and restaurants line the street with alfresco dining. Grab a coffee, a delicious lunch or even a craft beer. If you struggle to decide where to go with all the choices, try one off our hit list of great eats in Freo.

Bread in Common

Whether you’re heading out to meet friends or make new ones, take a seat at one of the long tables at Bread in Common.

As the name suggests their specialty is hand moulded, wood fired bread. You’ll find a menu designed specifically around their rustic bread, incorporating fresh, seasonal produce to create a truly delicious meal.

The Raw Kitchen

Even the most sceptical will love raw food thanks to this place.

A completely plant-based menu means tasty cuisine without the dairy, gluten, refined sugar or additives. You’ll find raw savoury and sweet eats, so be sure to leave room for dessert.

While you’re at The Raw Kitchen, why not pop into their shop or even take a yoga class?

Little Creatures

Head to Little Creatures Brewery and try a home brew with a view.

Take a seat outside the back or on the upper level and take advantage of spectacular views of the Fremantle Boat Harbour. Once you’ve found the perfect spot to dine order a few dishes to share, try a refreshing home brew, sit back & relax.

When you’re done indulging pop next door to have a peek at their brewery and see where the magic really happens.

The Monk

Wander through the heart of Fremantle and you’ll find the award winning beer and farmhouse cider of The Monk Brewery.

This small batch production family produces some of the tastiest beer around, and best of all? It’s preservative free. Don’t walk past this local favourite without having a drink!

Fremantle Markets

As you wander from the cappuccino strip to the Markets you’ll see plenty of musicians busking on the streets. There is so much talent hiding in the town of Fremantle. Famous musicians such as John Butler and AC/DC legend Bon Scott started their careers from Fremantle. Be sure to stop and listen because you might just be taking in the sounds of a future famous artist!

Freo Markets has plenty of stalls boasting the bohemian, hipster vibe that Freo thrives off. From clothing to handmade clocks to antiques, you’re sure to be intrigued.
