City of Perth Winter Arts Festival
Perth is well-known for a variety of festivals, and the winter arts festival is one of the most popular ones available. This festival has a variety of art and cultural events occurring, from music, comedy and theatre to film and visual arts. It often attracts families and couples.
Nannup Flower and Garden Festival
The Nannup Flower and Garden Festival has been held yearly for over twenty years and will likely continue to be held for many years to come. The festival offers activities for both parents and children alike, and presents a wonderful opportunity to take some beautiful photos amongst tulips and farms.
Theatre and Arts
Throughout the year, there will be a variety of theatre shows available to see in Perth. These include the Murder Mystery Table, an interactive theatre show based off an Agatha Christie style of mystery; Assassins, a Broadway style musical; and Fragment by Stewart Scramble.
There is also a variety of rolling arts exhibitions, such as See My Hat! in the State Library; Brookfield Winter Lights, which is an immersive arts experience; and the much-loved Year 12 Perspectives, a collection of art and projects made by the brightest and most creative graduates from Perth.

Spanning the entirety of September, the Kings Park Festival gives couples and families the opportunity to experience an amazing array of wildflowers, outdoor exhibitions, outdoor films, art displays and interactive family events.

IGA Perth Royal Show
The IGA Perth Royal Show is well-known by locals, and you would be hard-pressed to find someone who didn’t attend it at least once.
The show has been running for over 170 years, and has a variety of exhibitions, including agricultural shows, animal competitions, nightly fireworks and rides.
SunSmart Ironman
The SunSmart Ironman competition is not for the faint of heart. It is a triathlon where competitors must swim 3.8km, bike for 180km, and run 42.2km. If you are looking to introduce your children to the wonders of athletic ability, this is definitely the competition to take them to.
