Just around the corner from the cappuccino strip you’ll discover the Fremantle Markets. Open Friday, Saturday & Sunday you can find all your fresh produce and a sweet treat or two.
As you wander from the cappuccino strip to the Markets you’ll see plenty of musicians busking on the streets. There is so much talent hiding in the town of Fremantle. Famous musicians such as John Butler and AC/DC legend Bon Scott started their careers from Fremantle. Be sure to stop and listen because you might just be taking in the sounds of a future famous artist!
Freo Markets has plenty of stalls boasting the bohemian, hipster vibe that Freo thrives off. From clothing to handmade clocks to antiques, you’re sure to be intrigued.

Fremantle Prison
If history is more your thing then a visit to the Fremantle Prison is a must. It’s the largest and most intact convict built prison in Australia and Western Australia’s only World Heritage listed building.
Entry to the prison and its interactive visitor centre are free but the best way to see the prison is with a tour guide. Be amazed as your guide brings the prison to life with stories and folklore from its historical past.
WA Maritime Museum
Visit the Western Australian Maritime Museum, overlooking the Indian Ocean and Fremantle Harbour. This is the place to learn about the WA coastline and see some iconic vessels from WA’s interesting maritime history.
